This was my first B&B experience, and I am soooo glad I chose Dove Nest! It is a short drive to St Joseph's cute downtown area. It is surrounded by tall trees making it feel very intimate and secluded. We stayed in the Pond View Room, everything was immaculate. You can tell that John and Jitka are very attentive to details! They were both so sweet and welcoming. The whole ambiance of their B&B was so romantic :) We sat on the deck overlooking the pond and watched the koi and hummingbirds-so relaxing! Also, I have to mention the breakfast! Holy Moly! This breakfast was gourmet. It started out with a fruit plate with a croissant and homemade blueberry jam. We were served coffee and orange juice. Then we were served this deeeelicious baked egg dish (I don't know exactly what it was...only that it danced on my tastebuds beautifully). Then came dessert! Yes, dessert for breakfast. It was similar to a strawberry shortcake, and also very yummy! We will never forget our experience at Dove Nest Bed and Breakfast, thank you so much for being so amazing!

The gods must have been in our favor when booking our first B&B experience. So call me a snob but there was something about my pre-conceived notions of B&Bs as rooms overflowing with doilies and lace that made me stay away. So imagine my surprise after just spending one of the most relaxing and lovely weekend getaway with John and Jitka. The stay was nothing short of spectacular. From the beautiful surroundings that invited long and lazy hours of reading or simply listening to the beautiful sounds of nature to the scrumptious 3-course breakfast, John and Jitka will treat you as guests and not just as "customers." Every great thing has already been mentioned here and if it hasn't been emphasized enough, treat yourself to a wonderful getaway. It is obvious that John and Jitka handles their business with love and pride.

we stayed here this past weekend and were both wowed by the amazing place, service, and experience we had at the dove nest. john & jitka have built a beautiful home with impeccable landscaping. the house was immaculate, the beds were ridiculously comfortable, and it was the right mix of cozy and luxury. we had the royal oak room with a spacious bathroom and a private dining space, and they did everything to make us feel welcome (tulips - my favorite! - in the bedroom) and help us with our getaway (maps, restaurant menus and recommendations). the food was spectacular - fresh, delicious, and truly homemade with cute little touches (we had lovebirds as salt and pepper shakers) and thoughtful recipes. jitka even made afternoon treats that were incredible. john and jitka are great hosts, fun, friendly, and just adorable. we enjoyed getting to know them as well. the location is great - close to many wineries and not far from 'town'. it was great for us 'big city' folk to get away. this was by far the best b&b we've stayed at, and can't wait to come back again!

I decided to surprise my boyfriend and take him to a bed and breakfast for his birthday and since we have never been to one, it was a great idea. John and Jitka were amazing hosts. Their cute B & B was greatly located 6 miles away from everything. Downtown St. Joe, the wineries n shops. They provided a great little breakfast every morning n even set up a special section for my boyfriend's birthday. Thank u for making our first experience at a B & B one we will never forget. We had an outstanding time staying at Doves Nest! The owners, Jitka and John are so wonderful and the food was outstanding. We came up after our wedding for a mini honeymoon and will be back sooner than later we hope.... An extra star for generosity and hospitality!!!!
